JPTC was established by the Law on the Judicial and Prosecutorial Training of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, no. 22/02, 40/02, 59/02, 21/03). JPTC is a public institution with a specific mandate, established by law. The aim of the JPTC is to ensure, under supervision of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, that training programmes for judges and prosecutors are developed and implemented in a transparent, expert and unbiased manner that is inherent to judicial and prosecutorial office.
