Our family has been manufacturing the finest footwear for ladies and gentlemen since 1822. The first records of the craft dating back to 1822 have been published in Sarajevo Defters. Today, we are keeping pace with the current market trends and we can proudly say that our shoes have evolved through time – from traditional Bosnian clogs (nanule) to highly sophisticated and orthopaedic shoes we are especially proud of. The very first family-owned shop was located at Baščaršija, the central part of old town Sarajevo. New trenpapuceds were recognized in the late 1980s. In order to meet these new trends, Ado Shoes as a brand was established in 1990. Initially, we were manufacturing folklore slippers – the signature of our heritage, as well as baby and toddler shoes. We can proudly say that we have managed to preserve our traditional collection which is still available and displayed at our shop. We have also upgraded manufacturing techniques used in the production process in order to improve the quality and comfort levels. We have also enriched our collection with ladies shoes and a much wider selection of orthopaedic shoes for kids. The post-war period was a new beginning for Ado Shoes. Applying the previously acquired shoe-making skills and following the trends of the emerging market, we have decided to shift our business strategy and focus on classic collections of men’s and ladies’ shoes and boots. Our understanding of the importance of orthopaedics combined with the traditional approach to the manufacturing process has resulted in collections of shoes that are both beneficial to health and aesthetically appealing. Currently, Ado Shoes is manufacturing classic shoes from the finest and carefully selected genuine leather. Apart from our ready-to-wear collections, we are also very proud of our bespoke shoes that are pushing the handcrafted shoes luxury even further.
