Banjaluka Centre for Human Rights [BCE] is a non-governmental, non-party, non-for-profit organization founded to fight for human rights and their better understanding. The aim is protection of human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in the Republic of Srpska. BCE works to encourage the respect of human rights and informing/educating citizens and the public. Through informing and raising awareness of citizens about content and protection of human rights, especially human rights protected by the European Convention of Human Rights (adopted on November 4, 1950 in Rome, by Council of Europe), all members of BCE strive to increase citizen’s knowledge about human rights which are granted by birth. By improving the understanding of public institutions, non-governmental bodies and organizations for human rights protection, fostering mutual cooperation between people and community and free communication between them on human rights, BCE wants to improve the attitude towards human rights in this part of Europe. In order to achieve these aims, BCE organizes various forms of legal and legitimate actions which provide the citizens, as well as scientists and experts with better insights into human rights issues. Members of BCE are non-party figures and their main focus is on human rights and the dissemination of the European Convention of Human Rights.
